Protecting Our Community

As a young man, Ben Franklin observed how his native city of Philadelphia was unprepared whenever fire struck. Amateurs frequently fought fires in a haphazard manner. Goodwill and amateur firefighters were not sufficient for Franklin. He further noted that Boston had “a club or society of active men belonging to each fire engine, whose business is to attend all fires with it whenever they happen.” He also observed that via practice and regular meetings, the firefighters’ skills improved.

Although the methods of extinguishing fires have changed since the time of Ben Franklin, the underlying need and response remain the same – citizens helping each other in their time of need. Welcome to the official web site of the Holiday Shores Fire Department. We hope that you will find the information and links useful. Should you have the desire and ability to follow in Ben Franklin’s footsteps, give us a call at our business office telephone number, 656-6673, or drop by the fire department at 93 Holiday Dam Road at 7 p.m. on a Monday night. There is always a need for a few more neighbors in our ranks. You can make a difference in a person’s life.

I just wanted to say Thank You. For being there for me Monday. And putting out the fire so quickly. You didn't have to stand out there in the cold for over 4 hours but you did. Thank You. GOD Bless You and keep you safe.
